CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PEOPLE OF ICELAND
The Repudiate the Debt Campaign welcomes and applauds the decision of the people of Iceland to reject the bank bail-out that would subsidise the wealthy elite. They showed great courage in rejecting the terms and conditions and in resisting the pressure from the European Union and international finance houses.
We repeat our demand for a referendum to allow the Irish people a vote on the growing mountain of debt placed on the backs of the Irish people by the outgoing Government and added to by the present one. We demand the same democratic opportunity as the people of Iceland have won.
